Home, again

Back in Tianjin today. The longer we live abroad and travel the more apparent it becomes that we don’t have just one ‘home’. After a lovely two weeks at ‘home’ in England we arrived home today with oodles of Easter chocolates, my new hobby (cross stitch) biscuits galore and coffee capsules to last us for months. Our apartment was beautiful and clean and we couldn’t have been more pleased to see Ravi, who after about ten minutes of being grumpy with us, hasn’t left our side since we’ve been back.

Cases are unpacked, laundry is done and jet lag is setting in. Nine short hours and we will be back in the classroom!

Glad to be home sweet home.

London Calling

With Mr T’s Chinese Visa in hand we had the rest of the day to pop around London.  We had every good intention of making it to London Eye for my first visit, but the shops of Notting Hill kept our attention a bit too long.  Here’s a little look at what we got up to.

We were lucky to find a Keith Brymer Jones pop-up shop, I stumbled on some of his products in Kent and loved them.  I decided on two pieces that we could squeeze into our cases, salt and pepper pots and mix and measure jug.  If we were not moving half way around the world I’m sure I would have came out of that shop with a lot more!!  I was also successful in finding Hunter wellies for half the normal price by getting the kids size 5!  All in all it was a productive and enjoyable day in the city.  The 3 hour bus journey back was a little rough, but good conversation with other travellers made it fly by.
