Hello from 34,000 feet!

What a world we live in. Currently at 34,000 feet watching the Ashes on Sky Go.

I take back everything I ever said about American Airlines…

London Calling

With Mr T’s Chinese Visa in hand we had the rest of the day to pop around London.  We had every good intention of making it to London Eye for my first visit, but the shops of Notting Hill kept our attention a bit too long.  Here’s a little look at what we got up to.

We were lucky to find a Keith Brymer Jones pop-up shop, I stumbled on some of his products in Kent and loved them.  I decided on two pieces that we could squeeze into our cases, salt and pepper pots and mix and measure jug.  If we were not moving half way around the world I’m sure I would have came out of that shop with a lot more!!  I was also successful in finding Hunter wellies for half the normal price by getting the kids size 5!  All in all it was a productive and enjoyable day in the city.  The 3 hour bus journey back was a little rough, but good conversation with other travellers made it fly by.

Sweet Smelling Soy

Whilst visiting Deal we stumbled across a craft market, and walked straight to a table of sweet scented soy snow.  We were intrigued by the uniqueness and sold by the fantastic aromas.  We are daily candle burners and loved the idea of creating our own candles with a bit of snow and a wick.

We tested it out in a glass at our holiday rental.  The scent was lovely whether we were burning the candle or not.  I was able to remove the remaining wax and wick, saved in a ziplock back to bring back with us.  I can even get the scent through the bag as it is sitting on my bedside table.

You can see the range of products at Weald Candle Makers.  We love our new ‘candles’ as well as being able to support a ‘local’ small business!!
